Power transmission: the backbone of the business

In the transmission segment, Alupar holds the concession for 45 systems, totaling more than 10,000 km of lines across different regions. These are 30-year concessions in Brazil and Peru, and lifetime concessions in Colombia and Chile, which underscores the long-term nature of the company’s investments.

This network carries the energy generated at one point of the continent to where it is actually consumed, with safety, efficiency and the technical quality recognized by the industry.

Renewable generation: investing in the future of renewable energy

In generation, Alupar focuses on renewable sources. There are 16 projects, between concessions and authorizations, totaling nearly 800 MW of installed capacity, distributed as follows:

  • 4 hydroelectric power plants (UHEs)
  • 4 small hydroelectric plants (PCHs)
  • 7 wind farms
  • 1 photovoltaic plant

This diversity of sources reflects a long-term strategy to diversify the energy mix and reduce risks, always with a focus on sustainability.

Going beyond transmission and generation

In recent years, Alupar has expanded its business in Brazil. In addition to transmitting and generating energy, it also operates in energy trading: Alup, our trading company, operates in the free market offering energy with renewable origin certification to medium- and high-voltage customers.

It is a natural step for a company that already masters the energy chain end to end and now connects this knowledge and experience directly to those who consume it.

From Brazil to internationalization

As a multinational, Alupar’s activities go beyond Brazil’s borders. We are present in three Latin American countries:

  • Chile: Transmissora de Energia de Santiago (TES) and SED.
  • Colombia: PCH Risaralda (Morro Azul), Transmissora Colombiana de Energia (TCE) and Transmissora de Energia de Los Llanos (TEL).
  • Peru: La Virgen Hydroelectric Plant and the transmission projects Transmissora Costa Norte (TCN), Transmissora de Energia de Puno (TEP), Transmissora Sierra Azul (TSA) and Transmissora de Energia de Runatullo (TER).

Each of these assets went through the same process applied in Brazil: from project conception to effective operation, with the technical rigor that has become the company’s trademark.
